Common questions
Does Rounds need an internet connection?
No. Every game works offline, including in aeroplane mode. The only thing that needs a connection is buying or restoring a subscription, because that goes through Google Play.
Why does the app list an internet permission if it works offline?
Because the Google Play Billing library requires it. The app itself sends nothing. See the privacy policy for the full explanation.
How many players do I need?
Two is enough for most games. Charades wants four, and Headbands, Most Likely To, Never Have I Ever, Hot Seat and Paranoia want three. Each game tells you if the room is too small.
What is a Night?
A Night is a run of games played back to back with one shared scoreboard. Build a queue, or tap Surprise me, and Rounds plays them in order, carries the score between them, and finishes on a podium. Free Nights run three rounds; Pro runs as many as you like.
I paid for Pro but the games are still locked.
Open the Pro screen and tap Restore at the bottom. That asks Google Play to re-check this device. Make sure you are signed into the same Google account that made the purchase. If it still does not unlock, email us.
How do I cancel my subscription?
In the Google Play app: profile picture → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Rounds → Cancel. Cancelling is handled by Google, not inside Rounds, and it stops the next renewal without shortening the period you already paid for.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for Google Play purchases go through Google, at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. We cannot process them ourselves.
Can I change how strong the cards are?
Yes. Settings → Card intensity. Chill is safe with anyone in the room, Spicy is safe with friends, and Wild is blunt. Wild is part of Pro. No tier contains alcohol-related or explicit content.
The dares are too much for my group.
Drop to Chill, and use the skip button — it is on every card. Nothing in Rounds has to be done.
Can I write my own cards?
Yes, with Pro. They are stored on your device only.
I lost my scores.
Nights are stored on the device. Clearing the app's storage, uninstalling, or moving to a new phone removes them; there is no cloud backup, by design.
