Rounds ("the app") is an offline party game app for Android, published by Hugo Software. Everything happens on the phone in your hand, passed around a room. We collect no personal data.
We have no server
Rounds has no account system, no sign-up, no login and no backend of its own. The app ships as a self-contained offline bundle. There is nowhere for your data to go, because there is no server of ours to send it to.
What stays on your device
All of the following is stored only on your device, in the app's local storage:
- the roster of player nicknames you type in
- your settings: card intensity, haptics, sound, fast pass
- the Night currently in progress, including its scores and forfeits
- the results of your last 50 finished Nights
- any cards you write yourself
We never receive, upload, back up or look at any of it. Nothing is synced, and there is no export.
The nicknames you type are free text that you choose. They are not verified names, they are not linked to any identity, and they never leave the phone.
No advertising, no analytics, no tracking
Rounds contains no advertising SDK of any kind. There are no ads anywhere in the app, and no advertising ID is read or processed. It also contains no third-party analytics and no crash-reporting SDK. There is no tracking, no profiling and no device fingerprinting.
Network activity, and the permissions you will see listed
The app itself makes no outbound network requests. It does not fetch configuration, it does not phone home, and every game works with the phone in aeroplane mode.
The store page nonetheless lists three permissions. Here is exactly what each one is and where it comes from:
- Vibration — used by the app itself, for the short buzz on a turn, a timer or a dice roll.
- Internet — declared by the app framework Rounds is built on. The app does not use it to send or receive any of your content.
- View network connections (
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) — declared by the Google Play Billing library, so it can tell whether it can reach Google Play about your subscription.
We list these individually because an unexplained permission list is worse than an explained one.
Subscriptions and payments
Rounds Pro is an optional subscription sold through Google Play, weekly, monthly or yearly, with a free trial.
Your payment is handled entirely by Google. We never see your card details, your billing address or your Google account. The only thing the app reads is whether this device currently holds an active subscription, and it reads that from Google Play on the device itself. Google's handling of your purchase is covered by Google's Privacy Policy.
To cancel, manage or request a refund for a subscription, use the Subscriptions section of the Google Play app — cancellation is handled by Google, not by us.
Permissions we do not request
Rounds does not request or use your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, files, call logs or phone state.
Children
Rounds is not directed at children under 13. The questions, dares and prompts in the decks are written for teenagers and adults. They contain no alcohol-related, sexual or explicit content, but the more intense card tiers are deliberately blunt and personal, and are not intended for young children.
Deleting your data
Because your data lives only on your device, you are in full control of it: clear the roster inside the app, clear the app's storage from Android settings, or uninstall the app to remove everything permanently. We hold no copy anywhere, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. See the data removal page.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR give you rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over personal data held about you. Because we hold no personal data about you at all, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase — your data is already entirely in your own hands.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The current version is always available at this address.
